I discovered it had caused rupture & I went to Dr J W Powell for treatment. In Aug 1895 I was employed at the Peoria Grape Sugar Sugar Co assisting their engineer in making extensive repairs and when lifting in place section of a large fly wheel I felt a keen smarting pain in the lower point of left groin but did not discover I was ruptured there until two or three days later. When I was first injured in right side Dr Powell only advised a truss so when injured this second time I went to no doctor but bought a double truss. Some eighteen months ago Dr Powell died. About this time I was sick and called Dr R W Baker who treated me and only knows of this injury by what I told him.
