MISC Joseph Paul McNabb, 58, of Oroville, California, passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2017. Born on January 21, 1959 in Presque Isle, Maine, Joe was raised in a military family and spent a nomadic childhood making mischief in far-flung places like Japan, England, Louisiana, and Arizona. After graduating high school, he met and married Cynthia Hulpke in Phoenix, Arizona, and together they raised three children in Orangevale, California. Curious, intelligent, handy, and creative, Joe owned and operated garage door and locksmith businesses, made and collected knives and tools, and invented many MacGyver-esque solutions to sticky problems. He also spent a great deal of time outdoors kayaking, practicing archery, hunting, fishing, and hiking. Known as Jeo by his fellow geocachers, Joe enjoyed exploring the roads less traveled and being part of a warm community of like-minded adventurers. An independent and fun-loving spirit, he had a penchant for Hawaiian shirts and palm trees, wore his Scottish kilt with pride, and could light up a room with his laugh. Joseph is survived by his wife of 39 years, Cynthia of Orangevale; his three children, Joseph Michael (wife Melinda), Aaron James, and Lydia Beth; and his two grandchildren, James Ryan and Perry Ellen. He is also survived by his mother, Ellen McNabb, and his three siblings: David A. McNabb, Jr., Virginia Cook, and Mary Campione.;
