He took the child back to his father-in-law's house. In the meantime, Lucy and Eddie were engaged to be married. However, Eddie was hurt. He died and was buried on what was to be their wedding day. As Oscar continued to come visit his daughter at the Bolerjack home, he also started seeing Lucy.
